Did you know there are little habits you can develop at school that can help you have the strong and healthy smile you want and need? Well, it’s true. Our dentists, Drs. Thompson and Samaha, encourage you to develop these habits as soon as possible because they want you to achieve your smile goals. The habits that can help your teeth and gums at school are:

-Eat a tooth-healthy lunch: Foods like fruits, vegetables, dairy products and protein products are very good for your teeth, which is why it’s best to eat these things at lunch. Doing so can help you have the strong and healthy teeth you need. Also, please avoid the tooth-harming foods as much as possible, like sugary, acidic and high-carbohydrate foods.

-Brush your teeth after lunch: If you keep a toothbrush and toothpaste in your backpack, you can brush after you eat lunch. This can help you keep a clean and pristine smile and it can even help you avoid embarrassing moments when you socialize with food stuck between your teeth.

-Sip on water throughout the day: When you sip on water, the water washes the teeth and gums from bacteria, food particles and acid. This can help you maintain a top-notch smile while you’re attending classes. So, keep a water bottle with you and sip on water throughout the day if possible.
